BSc Biomedical Science in all State varsities

Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) has introduced BSc Biomedical Science programme in Life Sciences at the undergraduate level in the State universities on Friday during a meeting under the leadership of Prof R Limbadri, Chairman, TGCHE, in the conference hall of TGCHE. It aims to enhance the employability of students in the industry and healthcare sector.
Various pharmaceutical industries, healthcare sectors and degree colleges have joined through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce a Biomedical Science course. This collaborative effort marks a significant milestone in bridging the gap between academia and industry.
BSc Biomedical Science is an interdisciplinary course. The syllabus is prepared by Professors of Eminence and scientists of the relevant industry to implement in the universities from the academic year 2024-25. The key features of the programme include practical hands-on training, industry-relevant curriculum and industry internships to ensure that students are well-prepared for the workforce upon graduation. After completion of the course, students will bag a job in corporate hospitals and Bio-Pharma industry and  diagnostic centres.
 Prof. SK Mahmood, Vice-Chairman, TGCHE, Prof. Sriram Venkatesh, Secretary, TGCHE, Directors from Reddy’s Laboratories, MSN Laboratories, Pharma DEM Solutions, Senior Doctors from Osmania Hospital, NIMS, Mahavir Hospital, Principals from Andhra Mahila Sabha Arts & Science College, Reddy RBVRR Women’s College, Bhavan’s Vivekananda College of Science, Joint Secretary, TSWREIS and Principals from other private colleges attended the meeting.
