Buggana assures liberal trade rules

Minister for Finance & Planning, Commercial Taxes and Legislative Affairs, Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, has said that the aim and policy of the government are to facilitate trade in simple procedures and to help businessmen pay taxes in a hassle-free manner. He was the chief guest of the Trade Advisory Committee meeting held in Vijayawada on Friday.

On this occasion, Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said that a Trade Advisory Committee meeting will be held once in three months to take suggestions and advice from traders, even during the period of kings, tax collection played a vital role in development and administration. ‘Jai Jawan’, ‘Jai Kisan’, and ‘Jai Businessman’ is our motto. He said, “Commercial tax is what we pay for our future and the government will take all measures to provide assurance to the traders. It is the policy of the government to make tax payments hassle-free for businessmen.

The Minister said that a dealer-friendly government policy will bring good results in the future. Attacks on traders will be checked.Buggana said that most of the GST issues are being solved by the council.The meetings will be held in coordination with departments, dealers, and traders and every problem will be resolved.He said the government is discussing policy issues and difficulties of traders at the Trade Advisory Committee meetings in Anantapur, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, and Vijayawada.

State Planning Board Vice Chairman Malladi Vishnu said that the government is trader-friendly and that no targets were set. He brought to the notice of the authorities that big showrooms and malls in the city are fleecing the consumers.Vishnu told Rajendranath that 20 percent to 30 percent is being charged in the name of wastage charges by gold shops and to take action against such cases.

MLA Vellampalli Srinivas, City Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, Finance Secretary N Gulzar, Commercial Tax Chief Commissioner Girija Shankar, MLC K Rakshananidhi, Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce president K Vidyadhar and others were present.
