National Movement for Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS) secretary general Sthitha Pragnya has demanded that national and regional political parties across the country should give a clear picture regarding the cancellation of the new pension scheme for 84 lakh Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) employees and teachers in the country.
All political parties are requested to include the CPS abolition and old pension scheme restoration issue in their respective party’s election manifesto, he said. Sthitha Pragnya said that the families of 2.30 lakh employees and teachers in the State are waiting for the implementation of the old pension system.
It is the government employees who ensure that all the Central and State government schemes reach the people and benefit them. Sthitha demanded that the government employees be exempted from the Pension Fund Regulatory & Development Authority (PFRDA) Act, which has not provided social security to 84 lakh families.
Telangana State CPS Union State General Secretary Kalval Srikanth and treasurer Naresh Goud participated in the meeting.
