The BRS has reacted strongly to Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana’s comments on the education system in Telangana.
The YSRCP leader said, “it is not appropriate to compare AP’s education system.
There are scams in TSPSC exams. The TS government cannot even transfer teachers. That is the situation.”
Reacting to it Minister Srinivas Goud, Gangula Kamalakar and Sabita Indra Reddy held a press meeting.
Srinivas Goud said, “There is a situation where an answer cannot be given in competitive exams when the question where is the capital of AP is asked.”
He said that if AP students are brought together with Telangana students and competitive exams held we can judge both students. “They have a history of scams in APPSC and have been accused of stocking bundles of cash in lodges,” he said.Minister Dr V. Srinivas Goud said that if the people of both regions were treated equally the situation would have been different. He accused the YSRCP government of discriminating and harassing TS devotees in Tirumala.
Both the ministers challenged AP ministers to a debate on development in Telangana and AP.
Gangula Kamalakar said, “The education system has improved after the formation of Telangana. There were only 297 Gurukuls in Telangana in United AP. But now the number of Gurukuls has touched 1,009. Now 10 lakh students are now studying in state gurukuls.”
Kamalakar said that the number of Gurukuls has not increased in AP. He said that the Gurukuls of AP is limited to Class 10. Kamalakar said that the TSPSC scam was exposed by the Telangana government itself.
“The YSRCP has Congress DNA. Has the education system in AP really improved? TS is outdoing Kerala in education. It is our government that exposed the TSPSC scam. In AP transfers are being sold for bribes. Jagan should suspend Botsa,” he said.
Sabita Indra Reddy asked Botsa to withdraw his comments. She said, “Why has the number of students come down? When all states are taking Telangana as an example, it is unfortunate that AP is talking the opposite.”
She clarified that in Telangana, Rs 1,50,000 is being spent on each student. She said that Rs 2.50 lakh is being spent on each student studying abroad.
She said that teachers have been transferred twice in the last nine years and that transfers were stopped as some teachers approached the court.
