May approach HC against Govt for not handing over SIT’s case files
PNS|Hyderabad
The CBI is showing increased aggressiveness in the Moinabad farmhouse BRS MLAs’ poaching case. The CBI thinks that the state government is trying to avoid handing over SIT probe files to it. It is learnt that the CBI is preparing to strike the last blow.
An action plan is being prepared to investigate the case as per the orders of the High Court. Despite writing five letters, there is no response from the Chief Secretary. So CBI officials are likely to approach the High Court for the case files.
The CBI may make the CS, who did not implement Court orders, party in contempt of court case as the CS is not handing over SIT files to the CBI.
It is reported that CBI officials are making arrangements to register the FIR directly as the case files have not been transferred.
Legal experts say that writing five letters to the CS is part of CBI’s legal action. But as the hearing is going on in the Supreme Court on the 17th of this month, there is a possibility that important developments will take place at the end of this week.
It is learnt that the CBI suspects that the government is trying to escape even though the Single Judge Bench and the High Court Chief Justice’s Bench have cleared the CBI investigation.
The Court also directed the government to hand over SIT probe documents to the CBI. The CBI is making arrangements to register the case and investigate whether the files have been given or not. The CBI has initiated steps to collect the evidence collected by SIT through the High Court.
