The Deputy CM receives suggestions and opinions from NGOs and experts on environmental protection.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has been reviewing the Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Environment, Forestry and Science and Technology Departments giving constructive suggestions and directions for public benefits on forest conservation and environment protection. In this contest, many suggestions and opinions from voluntary organisations, experts and people from different sections have been received by the Dy CM’s office. They are sending reports sharing their experiences.
The other day, the Deputy CM met natural farming and environmentalist Vijaya Ram in Mangalagiri. He suggested that without disturbing and harming the environment, things should be used and reduce the use of plastic. Govinda Bhog, Ratna Chodi, Mappillai Samba and other varieties of paddy grown through natural farming were shown and discussed with the DyCM.
On this occasion, Pawan Kalyan said, “Using non-environmental polluting materials in celebrations festivals will be beneficial. As Vinayaka Chavithi is fast approaching, worshiping clay Ganesh idols benefits the environment so that water pollution can be prevented. Awareness should be created among people on performing pujas to clay Ganesh idols.”
The Dy CM said as a part of this, it has been decided to make suitable arrangements for worshiping Ganesh idols made of clay in Pithapuram constituency. “Similarly, prasadams are offered in temples in covers made of butter paper. Many experts suggest minimising the use of butter paper. If such covers are replaced with small palm baskets and straws made of leaves, they will also make waste management easier. We are going to create an activity to take up the use of these on an experimental basis in temples in Pithapuram constituency,” said Pawan.
