President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Gidugu Rudra Raju, has expressed concern over the actions of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating that they are detrimental to the nation. He accused the Centre of acting vindictively towards Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for raising questions about wrongdoings.
In a demonstration called ‘Mouna Satyagraham’ organised by the Congress party at Dharna Chowk, Rudra Raju claimed that the event was a resounding success, with a large number of people braving the rain to participate.
Addressing the media, he alleged that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are harassing members of the Gandhi family.
Rudra Raju expressed dissatisfaction with the sentencing of Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case, stating that a two-year imprisonment in such cases has no precedence in the 165-year history of the Indian Penal Code.
The APCC president expressed fear that the actions of the Central government, under the leadership of the BJP, are jeopardising the country’s integrity and sovereignty. He raised concerns about the alleged illegal handover of airports and seaports to Adani.
Gidugu Rudra Raju vowed to fight against the actions of the Central government and Adani’s alleged irregularities in the pursuit of justice. At the same time, he expressed faith in India’s judicial system and hoped that the Supreme Court would provide relief to Rahul Gandhi regarding his punishment.
Rudra Raju predicted that Rahul Gandhi would become the Prime Minister of the country in the 2024 elections. He emphasized that people across the country are closely observing what he called the deceptive acts of Narendra Modi. He stated that the results of the Karnataka elections clearly indicate the desire for a change in leadership. He expressed confidence in the Congress party’s victories in the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Telangana.
Several prominent leaders, including former Union Ministers Chinta Mohan and JD Seelam, participated in the event, along with various Congress party officials and members.
