Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mukesh Kumar Meena inspected the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs) secured at the godown on the premises of the NTR district collectorate in Vijayawada on Saturday. He was accompanied by NTR district collector Dr. G. Srijana and political party leaders.
CEO Meena provided instructions for the security of the EVMs and VVPATs and directed district officials to ensure the presence of political party leaders during inspections every three months.
Dr. G. Srijana explained that her administration has implemented all necessary security arrangements for the EVMs and VVPATs, submitting detailed reports to the CEO’s office. She emphasised that inspections are conducted every three months in the presence of political party leaders, with special protective measures taken during the rainy season.
The inspection was attended by Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar, DRO V. Srinivasa Rao, Vijayawada RDO Bh. Bhavani Sankar, Collectorate Election Cell Superintendent M. Durga Prasad, TDP leader Y. Ramaiah, YSRCP leaders Y. Anjaneya Reddy and L. Sivarama Prasad, Congress Party leader B. Kiran, and others.
In a related event, Additional CEO MN Herendhira Prasad and Krishna district collector DK Balaji inspected the EVMs and VVPATs at the Machilipatnam collectorate godown. Prasad verified records in the presence of political party leaders.
