Chandrababu has no right to visit cyclone-hit fields: Nagi Reddy

Must read

AP State Agriculture Vice-Chairman and President of YSR Congress Farmers’ Wing MVS Nagi Reddy said that the YSRC government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy dedicatedly working for the welfare of farmers and providing relief measures during natural calamities hence the allegations of Telugu Desam on this issue are baseless and politically motivated. He stated that TD Nara Chandrababu Naidu is not eligible to visit in the cyclone-affected villages, as when Naidu was in power for 14 years he did not work for farmers’ welfare.
Addressing a press meeting here on Thursday, Nagi Reddy said that CM Jagan had brought revolutionary changes in agriculture, education and medicine, keeping in mind the determination. He promised that when the elections were nearing, Naidu had deposited only Rs 2,000 under the name of Annadata Sukhibhava for one or two months but never worked for farmers’ welfare.
He said that CM Jagan implemented and fulfilled all poll promises and suggested to Naidu to ask farmers about YSRCP schemes.
Refuting allegations of Naidu and other TDP leaders regarding no action from the government, Nagi Reddy said that the Jagan government has taken precautions from time to time so that the farmers who reaped harvests do not suffer loss in terms of grain. He claimed that although the cyclone started on the third day of this month, the government has focused on the collection of grain so that it does not fall below 45,000 tons per day despite the rains on the fourth, fifth, and sixth days. He further said that similarly, paddy grain purchases were made offline as well.
Nagi Reddy claimed that as Chandrababu did not help farmers during the Titli cyclone, Jagan Mohan Reddy released input subsidy of Rs 182.63 crores after coming to power to the farmers of horticultural crops who lost in Titli.
