In a crucial meeting held at the State Secretariat in Velagapudi, Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy has made an appeal to the Central government, emphasising the significance of securing adequate funds for the implementation of Andhra Pradesh’s ambitious AP Vision-2047.
Reddy, who chaired the steering committee meeting on Monday, outlined the state’s strategic plan as part of the ‘Vikasit Bharat’ or ‘Developed India’ by 2047.
He stressed the need for substantial support from the Central government to achieve this visionary goal.
During the meeting, representatives from NITI Aayog presented their comprehensive draft of AP Vision-2047 and discussed the strategic plan’s key aspects encompassing all sectors for the State’s development. Jawahar Reddy said that securing the necessary funds for this transformative vision is a monumental challenge. However, he underscored that with sufficient assistance from the Central government, Andhra Pradesh can pave the way for development across all sectors by 2047.
Reddy also announced the upcoming state-level workshops, scheduled in the third week of this month under the auspices of NITI Aayog. These workshops will address critical issues within various sectors to ensure the effective implementation of AP Vision-2047. In a significant recommendation, the Chief Secretary proposed the establishment of an insurance scheme for individuals above the poverty line, similar to the existing Ayushman Bharat program for those below the poverty line.
NITI Aayog director and technology expert Ankush Vadhera delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation during the meeting. Vadhera elucidated the project’s goals, team approach, and theme-wise vision, highlighting opportunities for development in coastal areas, such as trade, tourism, and shipbuilding within Andhra Pradesh. Vadhera said that the State, already a prominent hub in agriculture, horticulture, and aquaculture, holds immense potential to achieve its ambitious goals by further advancing these sectors.
Furthermore, Vadhera addressed the pressing need for infrastructure development and outlined the specific steps to be taken in accordance with various Dhims. The meeting served as a critical juncture in the pursuit of AP Vision-2047 and the monumental transformation of Andhra Pradesh into a ‘Vikasit Bharat’ by 2047.
