Chikoti Praveen gets bail from Thailand court

Casino King Chikoti Praveen Kumar has been granted bail in Thailand. Praveen and 83 Indians along with him were caught red-handed by the Patai Police while gambling in Thailand. They were produced in a Thai court by the police and the court granted conditional bail to them. The court also ordered them to pay a fine of Rs 4,500.

The court ordered the police to seize the passports of the accused till then and they were returned within an hour after the fines were paid. It seems that Chikoti Praveen will come to Hyderabad from Thailand on Tuesday evening or Wednesday.

It may be recalled that Casino King Chikoti Praveen was arrested in Thailand on Monday while the 4-star Asia Pattaya Hotel in Bang Lamung district was operating a casino and gambling.

The Thai police launched a special operation and arrested 87 Indians including Cheekoti Praveen, his friend Madhav Reddy and Medak DCCB Chairman Chitti Devender Reddy. Around a 100 people were arrested along with those from other countries. Among them 19 were women.

The Thai intelligence agency informed the police that an Indian gang was organising gambling at the Siya Pattaya Star Hotel. Major General Kampol Leela Prapaparn, Pattaya City Police Commissioner Chonburi, Lt. Col. Shanti Korkasem, Lt. Col. Thanopong Foti and officials of the Immigration Department have been on the lookout for Praveen as it was known that he left on April 27.
