Children should be encouraged in sports from school level

YSRCP State general secretary and MLC Lella Appireddy underlined the need for encouraging children in sports from the school level and assured sportsmen in the State of all help.
Appireddy, along with city Mayor Kavati Manohar Naidu, inaugurated the three-day TVS Veerabhadra Rao memorial AP State inter-district and State Table Tennis championship 2022 in the NTR stadium.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, MLC Lella Appireddy said that the Guntur district is being made a suitable venue for all kinds of sports competitions at the state level. He said that he is happy to note that NTR Stadium is the venue for state-level table tennis competitions. The MLC advised the players to put maximum effort to win in this fast-paced and highly competitive game, but with full sportsmanship and extraordinary style of play.

“Keeping in mind the fact that those who excel in the field of sports will get lucrative job opportunities. The sportsmen should make all efforts to excel in the upcoming national level competitions and show the power of the state”, he told the players.

Appireddy stated that the state government is giving high priority to the sports sector in accordance with the ideas and aspirations of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, adding that the necessary funds are also being allocated to sports.
The MLC said that all stadiums in the state are being renovated and developed in a bid to encourage sport. He assured the players to extend any kind of help to them.

Mayor Manohar Naidu said that Saturday is declared a sports day in educational institutions.  All facilities are being provided to the players in all schools under the ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme. Deputy mayor Sk. Sajeela, TT Association state secretary Viswanath, district president Gurudat, secretary Pavin Krishna and coach Surendra were among those who were present.
