BJP General Secretary and Telangana party in-charge Tarun Chugh said that it is well known that the BRS government is the most corrupt government in the entire country.
The method chosen by the KCR government to cheat the Centre by siphoning off funds is shocking, he said.
Chugh said that the fraud of the BRS government is not limited to just commissioning huge irrigation projects.
He said the TRS government has named six projects in Nizamabad district under two different schemes, one under the loan taken by the Road Development Corporation and the second under the Central Special Assistance scheme.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Chugh said that one work has been completed but funds were taken from two different sources which led to double accounting of a single project. There are reports that Rs 4,144 crore given under the special assistance scheme of the Centre was siphoned off through double accounting, he said.
A large number of works which have been shown executed under this project include works executed using the loan taken by the Road Development Corporation. Chugh said that this is a huge fraud and it needs an immediate CBI inquiry.
“I demand a CBI inquiry into all the projects, including road works executed by the Government of Telangana during the last nine years under the Central Special Assistance scheme and loans taken by the Road Development Corporation of Telangana,” he said.
