Government Whip Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas filed a complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP) against former MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh on Tuesday.

In his complaint, Adi Srinivas said that Chennamaneni Ramesh had contested elections using fake documents, although he has no Indian citizenship. He appealed to the DGP to take action against Chennamaneni Ramesh.

Responding to Adi Srinivas’s complaint, CID officials filed an FIR against Chennamaneni Ramesh and asked Adi Srinivas to come to their office to provide details of the case.

It may be recalled that Telangana High Court Justice Indrasen Reddy had dismissed the petition of Chennamaneni Ramesh, who challenged the Centre’s orders abolishing his Indian citizenship.

Moreover, the High Court directed Chennamaneni Ramesh to pay a fine of Rs 25 lakh to Adi Srinivas, who had filed a complaint against Chennamaneni Ramesh regarding his citizenship, and Rs 5 lakh to the Legal Services Authority. Chennamaneni paid the fines through Demand Drafts on Monday.
