climate change task force meet Officials focus on precautions to be taken against heat strokes

District Collector and Magistrate Advait Kumar Singh instructed the officials to make suitable arrangements in the district according to the current climate changes. On Wednesday, a district-level climate change task force committee meeting was held at the Collectorate, attended by Additional Collectors (Local Bodies) Lenin Vatsal Toppo and (Revenue) K Veer Brahmachari.  
The Collector emphasized the need to disseminate widely, through all available means, a comprehensive understanding of how to take action against heat strokes by following health guidelines in the context of severe heat.
He recommended adjusting the schedules for workers engaged in National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) works, municipal and village panchayat sanitation workers, and agricultural labourers to ensure that they have access to necessary drinking water, ORS and other facilities.  
Officials from the Animal Husbandry department were urged to inform about precautions to be taken for animal husbandry safety. Forest department officials were advised to take preemptive measures to prevent fire hazards in the forests and coordinate with the relevant authorities.  
It was stated that the fire department personnel must remain alert at all times. Measures should be taken to ensure that agricultural, municipal and village panchayat staff report for duty before 11 am. Medical staff were directed to prepare ORS and other medications in advance across the district. Drinking Water centers should be established at bus stations, railway stations, and crowded public places.  
All departments were advised to work in coordination and take proactive measures to prevent loss of life and property due to heat strokes. District officials were instructed to inform the staff daily about climate change reports. Following this meeting, a brochure outlining precautions to be taken against heat strokes was unveiled.  
This program was attended by Mahabubabad, Thorrur revenue divisional officers Krishnaveni, Ganesh, DRDA Project Director Madhusudhana Raju, Medical Health Department Officer Dr. Murali Dhar, ZP CEO Purushotham, DPO Hariprasad, DAO Vijaya nirmala, Horticulture Depar tment Officer Marianna, Deputy Medical Officer Dr. Prameela, Program Officer Dr. Nageswara Rao, Municipal Commissioners Shanti Kumar, Ravinder, Naresh Reddy, and others.”
