CM assures all help to kids with liver problems

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has assured the parents of a child suffering from a liver ailment that the entire cost of the liver transplant will be borne by the State government. The immediate response from the CM and assurance came as a boon to the parents of the poor child who needed liver transplantation and the joy of the parents and the relatives was boundless.

Yugandhar Reddy, son of Divakara Reddy couple from Chigicharla in Dharmavaram mandal of Anantapur district was suffering from liver problem at the tender age of three-and-a-half years. The boy was referred to St John’s Hospital in Bangalore on the instructions of the local doctors. The doctors said that liver transplantation should be done and it would cost a lot and Diwakar Reddy’s poor family was unable to spend that huge amount for treatment.

The parents met Dharmavaram MLA Kethireddy Venkatrami Reddy and on Friday the MLA brought the victim’s family to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who came to Parnapalle of Lingala mandal. Diwakara Reddy’s couple explained their son’s illness to the Chief Minister. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who responded immediately, assured them that the government would bear the cost of the treatment and that there is no need to worry.

District Collector Vijaya Ramaraju was ordered to take immediate steps to get the boy medical services. Diwakar Reddy couple thanked the Chief Minister for extending help to save their child. The officials and public representatives were speechless by the CM’s immediate response.
