Minister for Social Welfare Merugu Nagarjuna lashed out at Ramoji Rao’s false propaganda through his articles in his daily newspaper. He expressed anger over the recent article that CM Jagan is against the growth of SCs and STs in the State.
Addressing the media persons on Friday at the party central office, Minister Merugu Nagarjuna pointed at Ramoji Rao for baseless articles and seeking a reply from CM Jagan. The Minister said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the first one to bring a social revolution in the history of AP. If CM Jagan is working towards the achievement of Ambedkar’s ambition, Ramoji was unable to bear and was penning false and baseless articles against the government and the CM.
On this occasion, Minister Meruga explained the difference between Jagan’s regime and Chandrababu’s regime. He explained that under CM Jagan Nadu-Nedu, the government schools were given all facilities and were transformed to match the corporate schools. During Chandrababu’s regime, 2,000 schools were closed and poor children were deprived of education and their lives were destroyed. He said that irregularities were committed in the name of foreign education during Chandrababu’s regime and vigilance investigation is also going on. The minister made it clear that people are not in a position to believe the false writings of Ramoji.
Minister Nagarjuna said that after Jagan took the reins, there have been significant changes in the lives of the poor. He said that corporations are spending funds to uplift the SCs. He explained that steps have been taken to ensure that all the funds allocated for them reach the beneficiaries (Dalits). He pointed out that Chandrababu did not care for the development of the Dalit Christians during his tenure.
The minister asked Ramoji, when Chandrababu approached the court for stay, that the poor and dalits should not be given land in Amaravati, why Ramoji Rao did not write about it. There is no article when Chandrababu moved the court against introducing English medium for the poor? If Chandrababu conspired not to put Ambedkar’s statue in the capital, why was it not written? Asked minister Nagarjuna.
Minister Merugu Nagarjuna said that when CM Jagan is building Ambedkar’s statue in the heart of Vijayawada, Ramoji Rao can not see it. If there were attacks on Dalits during Chandrababu’s regime, why didn’t you write in your newspaper, the minister asked.
The Minister further recalled that during Chandrababu rule AP was at the fourth place in the country in attacks on Dalits, why did Ramoji not write about it. He said that CM Jagan had set up the ST Commission for the Tribals. He deplored why it was not written when the lands pattas were given to the Tribals. He questioned why the tribal university being built during the YSRCP regime was not carried in their media and challenged the TDP leaders and Ramoji Rao that they are ready for debate on all these issues.
