Online exams scheduled for Sept, results by Oct 10

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has given his approval to initiate a comprehensive recruitment process to fill all existing vacancies in Universities and IIITs on a regular basis.
During a review meeting held at the Camp Office here on Thursday, the Chief Minister authorised the Education Department to fill 2635 vacancies for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor positions in Universities, along with 660 similar posts in IIITs. It is noteworthy that the Government has already successfully filled 51,000 vacancies in the Medical and Health Department.
The recruitment process, to be conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), will utilize an online examination system and interviews to finalize appointments by November 15.
Addressing the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasized that equipping Universities with a regular teaching staff would enhance their overall performance. He stated, “Just as we have successfully filled 51,000 posts in the Medical and Health Department, it is crucial that we regularly fill existing vacancies in Universities to ensure their effective functioning.” He further stressed that the selection process should be based solely on merit to guarantee a high standard of education for students.
Referring to the flawless appointment of 1.30 lakh staff members in village and ward secretariats, the Chief Minister urged for a similarly efficient and prompt recruitment process for faculty in Universities and IIITs.
Officials suggested that candidates already serving on a contract basis should be granted a maximum of 10 weightage marks, at a rate of one mark per year of experience.
They further informed the Chief Minister that the notification for the recruitment drive will be issued by the APPSC on August 23, and an online examination will be conducted in the third and fourth weeks of September.
Results are scheduled to be declared on October 10, with the final list of selected candidates, following interviews, to be announced by November 15.
The review meeting was attended by Education Minister B Satyanarayana, Principal Secretaries J Syamala Rao (Higher Education) and Chiranjeevi Choudary (Finance-HR), College Education Commissioner P. Bhaskar, Higher Education Council Chairman K Hemachandra Reddy, APPSC Secretary Pradeep Kumar, and other senior officials.
