Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has emphasised that a clean Andhra Pradesh is possible only through clean villages, urging swift implementation of village-level waste management plans.

In a high-level review at the Secretariat on Thursday, Naidu unveiled a roadmap towards a “Zero Waste” State by October 2, 2026. He directed officials to ensure daily waste collection, composting of wet waste at the village level, and outsourcing of dry waste handling to authorised agencies through tenders to be floated next month.

DWCRA women’s groups will manage wet waste, while 52 waste clusters—two per district and one per mandal—will be set up for grading and processing.
