Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy recognised the exceptional achievements of students from government and government-managed educational institutions by presenting them with the prestigious ‘Jagananna Animutyalu Awards’. A total of 42 students who excelled in Class 10, along with 26 students who demonstrated outstanding performance in various Intermediate groups, were honoured with ‘Animutyalu Awards’. As many as 20 students who exhibited excellence in higher education across five categories were recognised with State Excellence Awards. The event witnessed the felicitation of a remarkable 22,710 students with ‘Jagananna Animutyalu Awards’ throughout the State.
During the award ceremony held on Tuesday, the Chief Minister commended the recipients and their parents, acknowledging them as the bright minds and shining stars who represent the future of Andhra Pradesh. Expressing his heartfelt congratulations, he highlighted the government’s efforts to introduce educational reforms aimed at equipping students with a well-rounded and matured understanding of emerging and future technologies, such as artificial intelligence, data management, machine learning, and other relevant subjects. He emphasised the importance of quality education in transforming students into not just followers of emerging technologies but leaders in the field, with the potential to shape and influence the world.
The Chief Minister proudly noted that among the top achievers, 24 girls ranked among the 42 students in Class 10, and 22 girls excelled among the 26 top performers in Intermediate. He stressed the need for students and parents to adapt to the rapidly changing educational landscape worldwide and encouraged them to aspire for greater heights. To those who did not secure a rank, he offered words of encouragement, urging them to set ambitious goals.
“We have revolutionized education in Government schools by providing enhanced facilities through the Nadu-Nedu initiative, implementing CBSE syllabus and English medium education, bilingual textbooks enriched with Byjus content, modern curriculum, tablets loaded with educational content for students in Class 8, subject-specific teachers starting from Class 3, and digital teaching from Class 6,” he explained. He also highlighted the ongoing training being provided to Class 3 students for TOEFL certification, aimed at enhancing their communication skills.
In order to prevent underprivileged families from falling into debt due to educational expenses, the government has implemented programs such as Amma Vodi, Jagananna Vidya Kanuka, Vasathi Deevena, and Videshi Vidya Deevena. These initiatives have instilled self-confidence in students and their parents across the State, observed the Chief Minister.
He further emphasized the need for continuous efforts in the education sector, including transforming the examination system and introducing the IB syllabus at the school level, to ensure that our students attain top positions in their respective fields and become exemplary global leaders. Stressing the importance of higher education, the Chief Minister mentioned that the drop-out rate has significantly decreased due to the implemented reforms, positioning government schools as competitors to corporate schools.
Addressing the students, he assured them that the Government would support their educational ambitions, stating, “Like your maternal uncle, I will do more for you with the blessings of God.” Intermediate Education Commissioner MV Seshagiri Babu and Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana also spoke.
