Deputy Chief Minister Kottu Satyanarayana has said that the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government is committed to providing full security to Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Satyanarayana said following the failure of TDP’s Mahanadu in Rajahmundry, Pawan Kalyan, under the guidance of Chandrababu Naidu, embarked on the ‘Varahi Yatra’ to attract the Kapu community.
While rejecting baseless allegations of YSRCP’s involvement in a conspiracy to harm Pawan Kalyan, he clarified that there was no motive to harm Kalyan and expressed that the Jagan Mohan Reddy administration holds no grudge against him. He further questioned the necessity for Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to contemplate any harm towards PK.
In light of this, Minister Kottu Satyanarayana assured that the government would extend full security to Pawan Kalyan, considering him a valued citizen of Andhra Pradesh.
Highlighting the alleged political motivations behind the rumours of a plot against Pawan Kalyan, Satyanarayana attributed the concept of a conspiracy and elimination to Chandrababu Naidu, noting his penchant for such tactics and citing the example of how Naidu wrested control of the Telugu Desam party from NTR. The Minister advised Pawan Kalyan to remain vigilant if there were any indications of potential harm, emphasising that Naidu was well-versed for political conspiracies. He encouraged Pawan to file complaints regarding any conspiracy targeting the TDP chief.
Satyanarayana reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of Pawan Kalyan, reiterating that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration would provide him with full security as a citizen of Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing the issue of the Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh, Satyanarayana asserted that the YSRCP had consistently pursued this demand, in contrast to Chandrababu Naidu’s untrustworthy stance of initially accepting the ‘Special Package’ and later reversing his position. He expressed optimism that the YSRCP’s efforts would eventually yield the desired outcome of securing SCS for the State.
