CM responsible for law and order failure: Aruna Tension arose during BJP MP’s visit to Lagacharla village as police stopped her

A tense situation arose in Kodangal as police stopped the vehicle of Palamuru Lok Sabha member DK Aruna during her visit to Lagacharla village. The incident happened near Manneguda, where officers stopped Aruna, citing potential law and order concerns in the area. The move sparked a heated response from Aruna, who questioned the police actions and expressed outrage over being prevented from visiting her own constituency.
Aruna, visibly angered by the police behaviour, questioned why she was being stopped. She demanded an explanation, stating, “As an MP, I have the right to visit my constituency. Tell me what wrong I have done to justify this interference.” She went on to criticise the handling of the situation by the State government, blaming the Chief Minister for the law and order issues within his own constituency. She alleged that the incident was a deliberate attempt to suppress her right to interact with the constituents.
Following the altercation, Aruna declared her intention to meet the District Collector to discuss the matter. She asserted her right to move freely within her Lok Sabha constituency and accused the Chief Minister of failing to maintain order, which, according to her, had resulted in unnecessary tension. The MP also called for the arrest of Revanth Reddy, arguing that his actions in the region had escalated the law and order problems. She remarked, “If Revanth Reddy can go unchecked despite causing disturbances, why am I being stopped as an MP?”
Aruna further criticised the state’s approach towards development projects, particularly the establishment of pharma companies in the region. She questioned why CM Revanth Reddy had not engaged with the local community to address their concerns. She accused the government of attempting to grab lands from gullible farmers in the name of development without properly consulting or convincing them.
During her meeting with the District Collector, Aruna highlighted the farmers’ fears of losing their lands and the growing dissatisfaction among the locals. She urged the government to allay misconceptions in the minds of people about the development plans. The MP argued that the Chief Minister must provide assurances to the farmers regarding their rights and compensation if their lands are to be acquired for industrial purposes.
