The flight carrying Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was forced to return to Vijayawada International Airport in Gannavaram soon after takeoff due to a technical snag. The incident occurred on Monday while the CM was on his way to Delhi to attend the Global Investor Conference preparatory meeting.

According to the statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), at 5:03 pm the Chief Minister and a group of officials departed from Gannavaram airport on a special flight for their visit to Delhi. A technical issue with the aircraft was identified by the pilot shortly after takeoff and around 5:27 pm the plane was diverted to Gannavaram immediately. The plane made a safe landing and the CM returned to the Tadepalli residence.

The officials said that they are making alternative plans for the CM to travel to Delhi and the CM is likely to leave for Delhi at 9 tonight.
A statement says, “The pilot had identified the problem of pressurisation due to leakage in the AC valve.”

CM Jagan will be attending the AP Global Investors’ Summit round table meeting with diplomats and other foreign dignitaries at an event to be held at Leela Palace Hotel on Tuesday from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm. He will participate in the curtain raiser programme for the Global Investors summit scheduled to be held on March 3 and 4 in Visakhapatnam.

After the programme, he will leave Delhi at 6.05 pm and reach the Tadepalli residence at 8.50 pm.
