Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has reiterated that the authorities are taking comprehensive measures to address the issues faced by flood victims, including the provision of food, water, and medical supplies. He cautioned that there have been complaints from some victims regarding the lack of assistance and warned officials that stern action would be taken if they exhibit negligence in their duties.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday at the NTR district collector’s office, Chandrababu Naidu accused YSRCP leaders of disseminating false propaganda for political gain. He highlighted several incidents, including the SR Engineering College in Gudlavalleru case, the Prakasam barrage boat tragedy, and others, which have raised numerous questions. The Chief Minister also pointed to the murder of Vivekananda Reddy, suggesting that it has added to the doubts surrounding the situation. Chandrababu Naidu recalled his conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who expressed confidence in Naidu’s management of the Hudhud cyclone crisis. “The Prime Minister was taken aback by the public’s response to my efforts,” Naidu stated.
The Chief Minister announced the appointment of a senior IAS officer to each division, with approximately 32 officers actively engaged in relief efforts. Food is being distributed from ten districts across the state to ensure that flood victims receive meals three times a day in the most affected areas.
Naidu also addressed reports of snakes and scorpions entering the homes of affected individuals along with floodwaters, urging officials to handle these issues with empathy. Complaints about food distribution have been noted, and victims’ contact details will be forwarded to relevant officers. He emphasised that victims should keep officials informed about their needs. The Chief Minister warned that if complaints against officials are not addressed, severe consequences would follow. He appealed to the public to provide financial support and essential supplies to those in need, assuring them that the government will continue to do its utmost to aid the victims.
