Minister for Water Resources Management Nimmana Ramanaidu has lamented that the Chandrababu Naidu-headed coalition government has inherited an empty exchequer but the government is committed to implementing all welfare schemes.
The Minister laid the foundation stones for various development programmes and inaugurated completed works at various villages on Saturday in the WG district.
The Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of a CC road at Gangadapalem village at a cost of Rs 10 lakh and inaugurated the newly constructed footbath bridge. He also laid the foundation stone for the construction of a meeting hall at a cost of Rs 20 lakh at Matlapalem village.  He also laid the stone for the construction of the CC road at Meraka village and Vaddilanka villages.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister regretted that the previous government had handed over Rs 14 lakh debt to the new government. Huge funds were diverted to various other purposes consequently no development work had been completed during the five-year YSRCP regime.
He said that he had laid the foundation stone for four development works today at four villages and assured of completing the work expeditiously. Stating that the coalition government is committed to all its promises, the Minister highlighted that the social security pension was enhanced from Rs 3000 to Rs 4000 as soon as it came to power.
He acknowledged that the coalition government initiated a procedure to fill up over 16,500 teacher posts by conducting DSC examinations and observed that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had made the first sign on the DSC examinations.
“The government has set ready to launch the Anna Canteens across the state on August 15. The poor can get nutritious food for Rs 15 in the canteens,” Ramanaidu has claimed.
Seeds were provided to the farmers at an 80 per cent subsidy in the flood-affected areas. The Minister advised the party leaders not to give him flower garlands and to present him with flower bouquets. He asked them to bring vegetables and essential commodities, instead of garlands and flower bouquets, to give them to flood-hit victims.
