BRS blames Rajiv, Modi for losing Kazipet rail coach factory

PNS|Hyderabad

BRS leader B. Vinod Kumar said that a coalition government will take over at the Centre and that Telangana knows how to bend the necks of Central governments.

“We will bring a railway coach factory for Kazipet and there is no question of letting it go. The injustice being done to Kazipet for decades will no longer be tolerated.

The Central Government said that there is no demand for rail coaches. Then how is it being set up in Maharashtra and Gujarat? BJP leaders should also give a straight answer to this question.

The people of Warangal are observing the fraud committed by Prime Minister Modi who came to Kazipet and misrepresented the coach factory promised to Kazipet which was included in the AP Bifurcation Act as a mere POH workshop and then as a wagon manufacturing unit,” he said.

The Vice Chairman of Telangana State Planning Commission, Boinapally Vinod Kumar, said that they are getting ready to speak their minds. He released a press statement on Thursday regarding his visit to South Korea against the backdrop of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kazipet on July 8.

“The people are not ready to tolerate the injustice being done to Telangana in setting up a coach factory for decades. The people of the erstwhile Warangal district protested on a large scale demanding a coach factory in Kazipet.

In fact, when PV Narasimha Rao won as MP in 1980 he said that he would set up a coach factory in Kazipet in 1982. Surveys were done. He said that thousands of acres will be acquired in Ayodhyapuram, Madikonda, Rampur and other areas around Kazipet.

The people of TS and Warangal district were happy that a coach factory will be established in Kazipet. But at that time Prime Minister Indira Gandhi died and then Rajiv Gandhi became the PM and they made an agreement with prominent activist Longowala to water down the Khalistan movement in Punjab.

The coach factory that was scheduled for Kazipet was established at Kapurtala in Punjab. Since then, injustice is being done to Kazipet. Today the coach factory remains a dream. Vinod said that the people of this region are waiting for the railway coach factory so that their children will get jobs,” Vinod said.

In Kazipet, CPI leaders Bhagwandas, Kalidas and many other leaders along with the people of the Warangal region and leaders of civil society organised a movement.

“A railway coach factory was set up at Kapurtala to neutralise the Khalistan movement. After that, all Union Railway Ministers established rail coach factories in their constituencies. Jaffer Sharif, Lalu Prasad, Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee, Sonia Gandhi and Piyush Goyal took coach factories to their constituencies. But they forgot the promise given to Kazipet. The people of this region are being treated unfairly,” Vinod said.

“In 2016, as an MP, I spoke at Parliament meetings and demanded a coach factory in Kazipet. The Centre said that there is no demand for rail coaches. But later, when Piyush Goyal was the Railway Minister, a coach factory was set up at Latur in Maharashtra. Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the coach factory at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore in Dahos during the latest Gujarat Assembly elections. The Centre which said that there is no demand for coaches is setting them up in two areas. I hope that everyone would understand how Modi is deceiving Telangana. Isn’t this an indication of Modi’s bias against Telangana?” Vinod said.

He said that by putting aside a matter included in the Bifurcation Act, the Modi government is cheating Telangana. Prime Minister Modi is coming to Kazipet on July 8 to lay the foundation stone for a POH workshop.
