Cold wave, fog pose problems to commuters in rural TS

People of rural Telangana are reeling under severe cold-wave like conditions during the past 24 hours and road users have difficulty driving vehicles as thick fog suspended heavily in air at several places.
The Met office authorities warn the people that the situation is likely to continue till January 15. Day temperatures are hovering between 20-30 degrees Celsius.  People at several places, especially the aged, women, children and patients, are not able to venture out from 8 pm to 8 am because of severe cold and fog.
People were seen lighting camp fires to warm themselves. Sweaters and muffler traders are making brisk business.
A thick blanket of fog enveloped Kamanpur, Ramagiri and Muttaram mandals of Mandhani Assembly constituency.
Vehicle riders and commuters travelling on the Mandhani-Peddapalli main road faced problems due to poor visibility caused by the fog. Not only the agricultural fields but the houses in villages were enveloped by the fog, which remained suspended in air till 9 am.
The officials have been cautioning the people not to venture out unless it was absolutely necessary. If at all they have to use vehicles they have been advised to take precautions and drive slowly to avoid accidents.
Thick fog was found hanging heavy in the air  on the main road from Markandeya colony to Gautami Nagar via Indira Nagar in Godavarikhani. The people found the fog and severe cold wave like conditions difficult to surmount while travelling.  More or less the same situation prevailed in Ramagundam. Vehicle rides were seen driving their vehicles with their head lamps on in railway bridge area of the city and in the city’s main road area. Fog has delayed movement of several trains passing via Ramagundam. Loco pilots reduced the speed of trains because of poor visibility.
In Peddapalli town, Bandampalli tank bund, agricultural lands on the outskirts of the town and Mandhani fly over were caught under dense fog. Hampering the visibility.
In Kamareddy, Superintendent of Police Sindhu Sarma directed the vehicle owners to take precautions as the dense fog enveloped the Kamareddy urban areas and asked them to drive slowly, switch on head lights, drive the vehicles observing sounds from vehicles, maintain suitable distance between two vehicles, use indicator lights while turning at the road corners and asked the vehicle riders to always remain alert.
