Collector calls on people to take part in  Cleanliness-Greenery programme

District Collector Koya Sri Harsha on Monday vowed to promote the district to number one position in the state in the implementation of cleanliness drive as part of Swachhadanam-Pachhadanam programme. Besides implementing the cleanliness, the district administration has been working to promote greenery.
He called upon the people to take part in the cleanliness and greenery promotion drive to keep their localities clean and green.
He flagged off a rally at Government Junior College grounds here on Monday as part of the promotion of cleanliness and greenery development. The rally proceeded through the main thoroughfares of the town. The cleanliness and greenery prometon drive would be implemented from Aug 5 to 9.
He asked the people to see to it that there is no stagnation of water in their surroundings and plant saplings and nurse them to promote greenery.
He exhorted the officials to take the number one position in the state in the implementation of Swachhadanam-Pachhadanam programme and check the use of plastics completely.  Later, Additional Collector Arunasri distributed prizes among the winners of essay-writing competition organised on the occasion.
Later, shramdaan was rendered on Govt junior college grounds.
Peddapalli Municipal Commissioner Venkatesh, DMHO Dr Pramod Kumar, elected people’s representatives, officials, students, artistes, MEPMA and women’s groups representatives were present.
