District Collector Satya Sharada on Sunday emphasised the need to provide quality food for students.
The Collector conducted a surprise inspection of several government hostels in Nekkonda mandal. They include Goverument Girls Gurukul School, college, Post Matric Scheduled Castes Boys Hostel and Scheduled Castes Girls Hostel.
The Collector was accompanied by Tahsildar Raj Kumar and MPDO Praveen Kumar.
The Collector examined the registers and later inspected the kitchen room, dining hall and store rooms.
College principals and caretakers are advised to be present in the kitchen room during the cooking of food. The Collector inspected the lunch cooked for the mid-day meal.
The Collector had lunch with the students at the Post Matric SC Boys Hostel.
