District Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh inspected the process of voter enrollment and directed the officials to create awareness among the people on voter enrollment.
The Collector inspected the voter enrollment process at Kasturibai Municipal High School, BGPO Municipal Corporation High School, the agriculture market yard committee office, and ZP High School on Saturday.
He inquired the BLO about Forms 6,7, and 8 which were received by them. He asked the BLOs why they did not enroll those who already crossed 18 years of age as voters. He also questioned why they did not inquire about the persons who attained 18 years of age when they conducted a house-to-house voter enrollment programme.
The Collector directed the municipal corporation commissioner Venkata Krishna to intensify the campaign on enrollment of names in the voter list by December 9 to create awareness among the people on registering their names in the voters list.
The Collector said “Number 1950 can be dialed for further information and assistance for voter registration. If their name is not on the voter list, they can check www.ceoandhra.nic.in. Similarly, registration can be done through the Election Commission website www.eci.nic.in and www.nvsp.in. One can register as a voter through Form-6, Additions and changes can be made through Form-8, Similarly, deletion can be done through Form-7.” The Collector appealed to all to register as voters before December 9.
Assistant Municipal Commissioner Bapiraju, Tahasildar B Somasekahr, and BLOs were among those who accompanied the Collector.
