Collector introduces new system for speedy settlement of ‘Spandana’ pleas

NTR District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao is implementing a different method for receiving petitions from the public for speedy settlement of the problems, which are coming to the government’s prestigious Spandana programme. While the District Collector, Joint Collector and the District Revenue Officer are receiving petitions from people currently, in the new system, the district-level officers will receive the petitions and resolve them.

Collector Dilli Rao conducted the Spandana programme at the Pingali Venkayya Spandana meeting hall at the collectorate on Monday. For the first time in the State, Dilli Rao arranged nine tables for the district officers to receive petitions from the public.

As per the new system, the petitioners should go to the officials concerned and hand over the petitions to them and then obtain the solution on the spot. If the problem cannot be solved at that level, then they will be referred to the Collector.

The Collector said that in the current system, the petitions were sent to the concerned district-level officers for settlement. However, in the new system, firstly the problem goes to the district-level officer and later only it comes to the Collector. Also, he said that the village and mandal-level officers should try to solve people’s problems. He sought complete details of long-pending issues. Without furnishing required details, no one should mount pressure on officers, he added.
