Collector reviews preparations for Iftar banquet on March 27

NTR District Collector Dr G Lakshmisha has instructed all the officials concerned to work in coordination to organise the Iftar banquet for Muslim minorities. This gathering is set to occur at the A Plus Convention Hall in Vijayawada on March 27, with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu anticipated to attend, and the Collector urged officials to work diligently to ensure the event’s success.
A coordination meeting was convened at the Collector’s camp office on Monday, to discuss the preparations for the State-level Iftar banquet.
During the meeting, Collector Lakshmisha emphasised the importance of adhering to the planned arrangements to facilitate a smooth and spiritually enriching programme. In addition to the banquet setup, he highlighted the necessity for special provisions for drinking water and handwashing to prevent any issues. He recommended the deployment of sanitation staff as needed to maintain cleanliness on the premises and the installation of mobile toilets.
He suggested that the Police Department implement robust security measures to prevent any unfortunate incidents. In view of the attendance of VVIPs, VIPs, dignitaries, and religious leaders at the event, he emphasised the need for smooth traffic management and appropriate parking arrangements. Officials from the Electricity Department were urged to ensure an uninterrupted power supply. He also directed the Medical and Health Department to establish a dedicated medical camp. The Collector proposed that provisions for a public address system should be included as well.
The meeting was attended by Vijayawada RDO Kavuri Chaitanya, Waqf Board CEO Shaik Mohammed Ali, Minority Finance Corporation MD Yakub Basha, District Minority Welfare Officer Abdul Rabbani, Waqf Inspector Khawaja Mastan, and minority representatives Nagul Mira, MS Baig, Fataullah, Feroz, Rafi, Khawaja, Sattar, Faizan, Shami, Shakeel, among others, along with officials from the Revenue, Police, VMC, and Medical and Health departments.
