District Collector P Ranjit Basha has expressed his anger at the tardiness in the construction of government buildings and directed the officials to take steps to complete the work by September 15.
The Collector held a meeting here on Thursday with the engineering officials and reviewed the progress of the constructions of government buildings with them.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the construction targets of the buildings, undertaken with the funds of the National Employment Guarantee Scheme, should be reached.
If the agency creates problems in the building construction, the agency should be changed immediately, he told them adding that as the state government is giving high priority to the buildings of village secretariats, Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBK) and YSR Health Clinics, the buildings should be to build by prescribed time.
“The Government buildings, which are the fixed assets for villages, should be built with quality standards,” the Collector told the officials.
He expressed his anger over the pending construction works of Village Secretariats, Rythu Bharosa Kendras and YSR Health Clinic buildings at some places. The engineering officers should perform their duties by recognizing the priority of the government, he warned them.
The Collector expressed anger over the over-stopping of construction works of village secretariats in Repalle mandal, the Collector directed the SE concerned to suspend the PR AR. He reprimanded the engineering officials for not showing progress in the constructing works. He told them that indifference in discharging duties would not be tolerated.
The officials told the Collector that 133 buildings were constructed and handed over to the respective departments while the construction of 7 buildings is at roof level.
Collector Ranjit Basha asked the officials what they were doing when the works of buildings came to a halt two years ago at Korisapadu village. The Collector expressed his anger at the lack of progress in works in Karlapalem, Korisapadu, Santhamaguluru and Karachedu mandals. He asked the SE to issue a show cause notice to the AEs concerned. The Collector also inquired why 97 works such as ground leveling and other works were pending in Jagananna Colonies.
Ranjit Basha directed the officials to build 74 arches in Jagananna colonies, adding that the works of 88 primary medical health centers should be completed soon. Panchayat Raj SE Hareramakrishna, DWAMA PD Y Shankar Naik, Housing department PD Prasad and other officials were present.
