S Chandrakala, Powerlifter and Constable in the Excise department was felicitated by Dr Rajat Bhargava, Special chief secretary to government revenue and excise, and D Vasudeva Reddy, Commissioner of Distilleries and Breweries and MD AP Beverages Corporation Ltd. on Thursday.
Chandrakala was felicitated on winning medals at the Senior National Powerlifting championship held at Kashipur in Uttarakhand state held from August 8 to 13. She won a Gold medal in the 76 kg category by lifting a total weight 550 kgs. She underwent powerlifting training at Railway Gym under the guidance of coach B Sandeep.
