Jawahar Reddy directs officials to set up infrastructure facilities as early as possible

Dr KS Jawahar Reddy, the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, has directed the officials concerned to take steps to complete the construction of five lakh houses by the end of August and handed them over to the beneficiaries.
Set up all necessary facilities like internal roads, drinking water, electricity, drainage and other infrastructure within the stipulated time, he told them..
Dr Jawahar Reddy convened a meeting with Housing Department officials at the secretariat at Velagapudi on Thursday, to discuss the progress of the works.
Five lakh houses should be completed by the end of August at any cost, to be handed over to the beneficiaries. The State government wants to perform housewarming functions at all housing colonies in the State, he said.
Besides, he said that a special arch should be constructed at every housing colony. The district collectors should take necessary steps on a war-footing to reach the targets.
He also conducted a review of APTIDCO and PMAY (G) house construction works.
Earlier, Housing Department Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain explained the progress of various schemes. He said that his department had given targets to every district. They are giving special focus on completing the infrastructure facilities, he added.
Andhra Pradesh Housing Corporation MD Lakshmisha, JMD M Siva Prasad, APTIDCO MD Ch Sridhar, CE GV Prasad and others were present.
