District Collector P Prashanthi directed the officials to take steps to complete 90% of Nadu Nadu works by one week.

The Collector held a video conference with the special officers and mandal officers on Manabadi Nadu-Nedu works, construction of government buildings, re-enrollment of school dropouts and other issues from the video conference hall here on Wednesday.

Speaking on occasion, the Collector said that it has been 45 days since the schools started. She directed the officials to ensure that 90% of Nadu-Nedu works should be completed in a week. Collector Prashanthi warned that every material received and completed work should be entered in the registers and action would be taken against the schools that did not maintain the registers.

She said that the mandal officials should regularly inspect two schools per day and send complete reports to the district office.

“Every day I will conduct a surprise inspection of one school in the district and take action against the presence of an unsanitary environment and waste material. Committees and principals should check the quality of work from time to time,” she told the officials.

The District Collector said that the shape of schools should be changed through the works undertaken by the government very ambitiously. Collector Prashanthi reviewed the details of the children who had dropped out of school and were re-enrolled, mandal wise and municipal union wise.

She ordered the officials to go directly to the homes and organize counseling for their parents of dropout students and bring them back to the schools. The Collector directed the DEO to take strict action against such persons if they neglect to return them to school.

She suggested that a team of teachers should go and convince the parents and give counseling about their future if the parents are making it difficult to enroll the students in school. DEO R Venkataramana, ZP engineering officer Srinivasa Rao ICDS officer M Sujatarani were among those who were present.
