The Congress has expelled former chief minister, the late Marri Chenna Reddy’s son and former minister, Marri Shashidhar Reddy, from the party for six years for meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah with the intention to join the BJP.
In a statement, the TPCC Disciplinary Action Committee’s Chairman, Dr G. Chinna Reddy, issued expulsion orders against Marri Shashidhar Reddy on Saturday.“The TPCC Disciplinary Action Committee discussed at length the meeting of Marri Shashidhar Reddy with Union Minister of Home, Amit Shah, at New Delhi, on November 18 along with Sanjay, the President of Telangana BJP and DK Aruna,
the Vice-President of the BJP to join the BJP and also his remarks against Revanth Reddy, the TPCC President, on November 19,” the TPCC statement said.The above actions of Marri Shashidhar Reddy will attract action as per the disciplinary rules of the Congress Constitution.Keeping in view the anti-party moves of M. Shashidhar Reddy, the DAC of TPCC has decided to expel him from the Congress for six years, the TPCC statement said.
