Cong govt blamed for agrarian crisis in TG

Must read

BRS working president KT Rama Rao has expressed concern over the agrarian crisis prevailed in Telangana and blamed it on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy government for the crisis to take place within four months of new regime coming to power in Telangana.
He came down heavily on the government, while taking part in the Rytu Deeksha protest staged here on Saturday. Former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday interacted with farmers and gave them courage by promising to fight on their behalf. KCR, he said, had ventured out in scorching sun to meet the farmers in distress.
The Chief Minister and Ministers have been harping on election code of conduct, he said, adding that it was atrocious on the part those at the helm of power to say that the administration was not in their hands. If Revanth Reddy was keen on helping the farmers, he should request the Election Commission to allow the government to pay Rs 500 per quintal as bonus to paddy.

The BRS allotted Rs 7,000 crore for disbursing among the farmers under Rytu Bandhu, but the Congress at the time of last Assembly elections stalled the disbursement of Rytu Bandhu. To get irrigation facility to Telangana, the only option left with the state government is to implement lift-irrigation schemes. That is why the BRS built Annaram, Sundilla and Yellampalli reservoirs as part of the Kaleshwaram project and pumped water using heavy duty motor sets. Even today, 2000 cusecs of water is flowing waste into the sea from River Godavari. Under hot summer, the tanks overflowed their sluices. The drought is imposed, but not a natural calamity. The Congress brought the drought in its wake.  Two of the 300 pillars of Kaleswaram project have sunk, but the Congress has been trying to project it under bad light to malign the image of KCR. The Congress has been slinging mud alleging that the whole project would be washed away.
