Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy on Thursday alleged that the Congress party has slammed Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy’s proposal of a three-hour power supply to the farmer. He saw a hidden agenda behind the TPCC president’s opposition to round-the-clock free power supply to the farm sector.
Speaking at the farmers’ convention at Srinivaspuram under Huzurnagar Assembly constituency, the Minister expressed the opinion that the Congress has a hidden agenda to reduce power supply from the present 24 hours to eight hours to farm sector. Revanth Reddy’s statement reflected the Congress party’s hidden agenda.
Local MLA Saidi Reddy presided over the meeting. Market Committee chairman Donthagani Srinivas Goud, Rythu Coordination Committee convenor Katt Shatish, sarpanch Ramya Nagarj and others participated.
Continuing his tirade against the Congress party, Jagadish Reddy said that the Congress party had never ensured that the farmers got a round-the-clock power supply. If the Congress party was committed to the welfare of the farmers, the Minister wondered why the Congress party-ruled States were not providing round-the-clock power supply to farmers. The Congress government in Chhattisgarh was providing a mere 7-hour power supply to the farm sector. The government in Chhattisgarh was making money by selling electricity to other states.
Jagadish Reddy cautioned the people that the Congress party if elected to power, would revert the pension to the previous level of Rs 200 and abolish Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima and Kalyanalaxmi schemes.
