Telangana Congress lodged a complaint with the DGP on Tuesday against the distribution of fake guarantee cards by brokers and unsocial elements to the people by demanding money and sought action in this regard.
TPCC senior vice-president G Niranjan stated that the Congress has announced six guarantees to the people if it comes to power and guarantee cards were distributed to the voters by the leaders and party workers. “After the Congress came to power in the State, it was brought to our notice that some miscreants and brokers are creating fake guarantee cards with the connivance of Meeseva and online centres and distributing cards among the people by taking Rs 200 to RS 500 for each card,” he added..
Niranjan said that these cards are being printed along with the photos of the Congress candidates to make people believe in it, which is totally false and fraud. He said that three days back, similar attempts were made in Bahadurpura Assembly constituency of Hyderabad city and fake guarantee cards were distributed with the photo of contested Congress candidate Pulipati Rajesh Kumar.
He said that on Tuesday, a news item was published in a section of the media that the fake guarantee cards are printed and sold at the rate of Rs 100 to 500. It was also reported that the concerned Inspector of Police has taken some persons into custody and enquired about it. He requested to alert the police personnel throughout the State to see that such fake guarantee cards are not distributed and to book the culprits wherever they were found.
He also requested to issue notices to all Meeseva centres and online centres not to print such fake guarantee cards, otherwise these centres should be closed permanently for the violation of orders.
He also requested for early action in this regard. Otherwise common people will be deceived by these miscreants.
