Political strategists in general encash on the ‘wave’ and ‘victory’ of the political parties that may occur in whatever way. However, the same political strategists throw the defeat of the political parties in the account of candidates.
In Telangana the three political parties-BRS, Congress and the BJP are exuding confidence that they will come to power after December 3 and have been stating the reasons for the victory in their own way.
Top political strategist Prashant Kishore (PK) worked for the BRS party for some months.
He detached from the BRS party as its political strategist. The reasons were not known but PK withdrew the contract with the BRS and he officially announced it. The BRS leaders stated that they don’t need any strategist as their president is the top strategist after PK’s detachment with the party.
However, the BJP has not engaged any political strategist and it depended on its own strategies, while the Congress engaged a political strategist Sunil Kanugolu (SK) for the ongoing elections.
Telangana Congress leaders are full of confidence that their party is going to win the November 30 elections and conduct the oath-taking ceremony on December 9 and the leaders from top to bottom have been stating that a ‘wave’ is on their side.
However, a discussion is going on in political circles, particularly in the Congress, whether the ‘wave’ for the Congress is because of anti-incumbency or because of political strategist Sunil Kanugolu.
Whatever it may be, the graph of the Congress in Telangana has increased after the victory of the Congress in Karnataka elections. In fact, the Congress leaders stated that the selection of party candidates took place based on the surveys and under the guidance of the strategist Sunil Kanugolu and the campaign was also held following Sunil Kanugolu’s strategies.
Meanwhile, some Congress candidates are feeling tensed up as the AICC leaders – Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and other top leaders did not campaign for them. They were also unhappy with the strategies that were followed by the party as they made Rahul and Priyanka campaign for important leaders like-Revanth Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Jagga Reddy and some others.
One of the followers of the party candidate from North Telangana bemoaned that they came to know that strategist Sunil Kanugolu and other party leaders prepared the public meetings in the constituencies for Rahul and Priyanka where the candidates win easily.
“Rahul and Priyanka campaigned for the candidates to win, but the strategists planned for a huge majority of those candidates. But the same strategists forgot other candidates, leaving them to their fate till the results are announced,” he said.
He further said such candidates were hoping on the ‘wave’ the party got after the Karnataka victory instead of strategies prepared by Sunil Kanugolu.
