Telangana Congress Screening Committee chairman Muralidharan said that the party will announce all its 119 candidates in one go. He said that they had finalised candidates for 70 Assembly constituencies and the remaining will be finalised soon. He said that the party will take a decision on an alliance with the Left on Saturday. AICC general secretary KC Venugopal is holding talks with Left parties.
Speaking to the media after the Screening Committee meeting held on Friday in New Delhi, Muralidharan said that they will reveal the party’s decision after another Screening Committee meeting which will be held soon. He said that the party will announce candidates before its Bus Yatras and that it will publish the list of candidates on October 15. He made it clear that there are no differences between leaders in the selection of candidates.
Meanwhile, Screening Committee member Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that the Screening Committee almost completed the process of selecting candidates on Friday. He said that the exercise had been completed in all seats. However, the committee sent the cases of some seats to the panel and Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will take a decision regarding that. He said that the list would be released after the approval of the Central Election Committee.
