The Congress party has always been keen on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare, said Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy on Tuesday. He made an indirect dig at the Congress by saying that the grand old party has been working hand in glove with the BJP.
Speaking at a media conference in Suryapet, the Minister reacted angrily to the Congress party delegation meeting Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and urging her to visit rain-affected areas in the State to assess the damage caused by rains and floods. The Congress party leaders had not only met the Governor but also appealed to her to visit the rain-hit areas though Tamilisai Soundararajan was acting like a BJP leader, Jagadish Reddy. It showed the Congress party’s proximity to the BJP.
The way the Congress leaders made a beeline for the Raj Bhavan showed that the Congress party in Telangana and BJP are the two faces of the same coin.
The Bharat Rashtra government has borne the entire expenditure for relief measures and rehabilitation for the last four years. The BJP-led Central government had never provided aid to the people affected by rains and floods during the last four years.
Instead of demanding that the Centre provide aid to the State government, the Congress launched a tirade against the State government. The BJP-led Union government has been providing aid to Gujarat when it was hit by rains, but meting out step-motherly treatment to Telangana, he remarked.
Instead of criticising the Prime Minister for discriminating against the State, the Congress leaders in the State were trying to tarnish the image of the BRS government.
