Congress stages a walkout on power cuts

Congress MLAs staged a walkout protesting against the government not allowing a discussion on power cuts. On Thursday, the Congress moved an adjournment motion on power cuts for a discussion in the Assembly. But Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy did not allow the adjournment motion. Protesting against it, Congress MLAs Bhatti Vikramarka, D. Sridhar Babu, T. Jagga Reddy and Seethakka displayed placards stating that “farmers facing severe troubles due to power cuts.” They staged a walk-out displaying the placards and walked up to the Assembly media point displaying the placards.

Speaking to the media they said that the government has been saying that it has been giving free 24-hour power supply but in reality, it is not giving it. With power cuts, farmers have been facing lot of trouble, they said.

They demanded that the government should supply power to farmers or else their crops will wither.
