Contestants asked to adhere to Model Code of Conduct

General Election Observer for Graduates constituency Rahul Bojja has directed the contestants for the MLC by-polls post to not to take the following of Model Code of Conduct to strictly adhere to it.

He addressed the candidates contesting the MLC elections on different party tickets here on Wednesday.
He asked them to read the Model Code of Conduct thoroughly and told them that the Election Commission appointed him as general election observer for the MLC by-polls and hence will supervise the conduct of polls.
The candidates may contact him in case of any doubt with regard to the code of conduct by calling him on 9866377107.    Right from filing of nominations to completion of the elections, the code of conduct is one and the same for all elections.
The contestants should not highlight the caste, religion and should not resort to personal vilification of the rival candidates in the campaign. Moreover, they should desist from campaigning in places of worship and offering inducements to voters. Without necessary permission, they should not spoil the walls of private properties with the graffiti and also should not install their hoardings on other’s properties, he said. They should not affect the normal life of the people and should not threaten anyone. They should seek prior permission for inserting political advertisements in electronic and social media.
Collector and returning officer for Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates’ constituency Dasari Hari chandana told the candidates that they can start campaigning. If they campaign in various districts they should get permission from assistant returning officers. If they want to campaign in the whole of the constituency they should seek permission from the returning officer at Nalgonda. If they campaign without getting permission, the model code of conduct is applicable to them. They should not made provocative statements and if they want to lodge any complaint they can do so calling 1950 or 1800425144.
If they want to complaint about distribution of inducements like liquor and cash, they can do so through c-vigil mobile applications.
