Sharmila to march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament today

In a sensational announcement this morning, YS Sharmila said that she would stage a peaceful march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament House in New Delhi on Tuesday, demanding action against corruption in the Kaleshwaram Project.
Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Sharmila expressed utter disappointment at the authorities not taking any action, audit or investigation into the irregularities that were already public. She said she had to take this step to draw the attention of the nation and Parliament towards the biggest fiasco in Telangana.
“Tomorrow, I will walk from Jantar Mantar to Parliament House to let the country realise the magnitude of the scam and our fight against it in the last two years. The project cost was hiked from Rs 38,500 crore to Rs 1.20 lakh crore but on Sunday the BRS Minister claimed only 1.5 lakh acres has been irrigated. This shows that Kaleshwaram Project is the biggest flop that filled the pockets of a contractor and a family. KCR’s redesign itself was motivated by his intention to loot the exchequer, and the project quality is so poor that it crumbled within three years. While 2 TMCs per day could be utilized they did not even use half TMC proving that the entire Rs 1.20 lakh crore went down the drain. Besides, the debt servicing cost and power bills are forcing Telangana to bleed. KCR is full of lies while the late YSR ensured that canal works were completed. All KCR had to do was to execute the original plan.”
“Today, entire India has the right to seek an explanation, as every Indian’s money was looted to give a contract to one company, the favourite of KCR. Central Finance Institutions extended loans of Rs 1,000 billion. So the country lost,” added the YSR Telangana Party chief.
“The Kaleshwaram Project is such a disaster that KCR who had earlier flaunted it as a monument and a tourist destination, today doesn’t let the media or the opposition come anywhere near it. The opposition leaders are mum, and so are Central ministers who do lip service but won’t act. Are all these people taken care of by Megha Krishna Reddy?” said Sharmila.
“We are the only party fighting against the project. We met everyone, from the ED to the CAG. We will continue to wage this war until Parliament takes it up. I invite all Telangana MPs to join me in this fight for the 4 crore people of Telangana. While the nine BRS MPs are puppets in their boss’s hands, I am sure the others can join and give hapless farmers a ray of hope. I appeal to BRS MPs to introspect and take a stance. You could relentlessly fight for your CM’s tainted daughter, but won’t show the same commitment to the people who voted for you. The Taliban of Telangana is looting the state and attacking those who are raising their voice. His daughter shamelessly finds herself caught in a liquor scam. She had never fought for women of the state, but in the garb of Bathukamma has been plundering Telangana, and now the nation’s money through the liquor scam. In the end, you target me because I have been alerting people about your misdeeds,” she added.
