Coupling inspection with instruction

Eluru District Collector Prasanna Venkatesh is a hands-on man when it comes to inspection of educational institutions. The other day when the Collector went for ‘inspection’ of Veeramachaneni Vimaladevi Municipal Elementary School in Ganugulapet, he did not scare the staff there out of their wits. He spent about an hour in the school observing the teaching methods unobtrusively. He then interacted with the students to know the depths of their understanding of various subjects. After obtaining details relating to students’ attendance, he advised the staff to provide quality education. He went round even the toilets as part of his instructive inspection.
