Ramagundam City Police Commissioner M Srinivas has underlined the importance of plants in maintaining the ecological balance and survival of various species.
He was addressing the gathering after planting saplings on the premises of the police commissionerate here on Wednesday.
Planting of saplings will ensure the health of posterity, induce rains and checks pollution. Moreover, it improves the green cover, reduce pollution and safeguard environment, he said.
The reduction of green cover triggers pollution and will pose health hazard for all, he explained.
For the sustenance of human kind planting of saplings is essential, he said exhorting the people to plant their bit of saplings to safeguard the environment.
Further, he wanted people to make others to undertake plantation drive. Additional DCP (Admin) C Raju, ACPS Ramesh, G Krishna, Venkateswarlu, R Prakash, Ravi Kumar, Malla Reddy, Venkataswamy, Narasimhulu, Pratap and Surendra, Administrative Officer Ashok Kumar, CC to CP Pawan Raj, CI Indrasena Reddy and others were present.
Earlier, the CP paid a surprise visit to Jaipur police station and inspected the office records in the police station. He enquired from the authorities there the crime rate under the police station limits. He made several suggestions to them on the course of investigation to be taken up. Mancherial DCP A Bhaskar, Jaipur ACP Venkateswarlu, CI Mohan, SI Ravi and others took part in the event.
