CPI’s call to burn copies of ‘Pattadar Passbooks’

The Communist Party of India (CPI) Andhra Pradesh State executive committee meeting has given a call to burn the copies of the ‘Pattadar Passbooks’ of the ‘Bhu Raksha Pathakam’ across the State on January 4. The meeting was presided over by senior leader N Ranga Naidu at the Dasari Bhavan in Vijayawada on Sunday.
CPI national secretary K Narayana attended the executive committee meeting. He explained international issues, national politics, and the party’s future activities. During the meeting, several issues were discussed.
The meeting faulted the printing of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s photo on the Pattadar Pass Books ‘Bhu Raksha Scheme’. These books are useless and farmers are concerned over the printing of CM’s photo on them, the meeting felt.
The CPI decided to burn the Pattadar Passbook copies in front of all Gram Sachivalayams. Also, the meeting passed a resolution to extend the party’s support to the Anganwadi workers and helpers’ agitation. Further, CPI extended its support to the agitations of Municipal, SSA and Revenue staff as well as volunteers.
Similarly, the meeting demanded that the government pay annuities to the Amaravati farmers by January 5, return the diverted funds of Rs 8,600 crore to the respective gram panchayats, and cancel Byju’s agreement,
CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna and national executive committee members Ravula Venkaiah and Akkineni Vanaja participated.
