‘Create awareness among voters to increase polling percentage’

Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Dharmendra Sharma said that every voter should exercise their voting right in a democratic system and a 100 genuine voter list is very important. A review meeting on Special Summary Revision of Voters List (SSR)-2024 and general election preparation activities was held on Friday.
On the occasion, ECI Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Dharmendra Sharma said that it is important to educate and encourage everyone who is eligible to register to vote and exercise their right to vote in elections. After examining the polling percentages recorded in the past at the constituencies and booth level, where it is low, the reasons should be scientifically studied and necessary steps should be taken to increase the polling percentage. Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programmes should be undertaken in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. A comprehensive and robust Election Management Plan (EMP) is required to complete the election process smoothly and successfully without any hindrances.
